Everglades

JAG 32

look at that face :)
This when we were in Florida for Christmas we took a trip to the Everglades. That was my first time there. What an awesome place!!! Florida has to be one of the best herping places. Next year i'm already planning on going back, the whole family had a good time, not just the herper. If your ever in Florida on vacation i would go there. Very cool place.
And of course there are going to be pictures :)

Gators, Gators and More Gators...... More pics on next post

Absolutely incredible pictures. If they weren't so beautiful I would be green with envy. Instead now I have to plan the family vacation around the everglades.

hey by any chance did you go to a place its called like ricks afari or something, if so ive been there and the airboat rides are AWSOME!

Nice pics! I got to go to Florida for my second time last spring break (first time was just to Miami) It's funny how growing up I was always under the impression that the Everglades would be this lush green place sort of like rainforest in Florida  Then to see the real Everglades it's really surprising how different it is. Basically, flat or sometimes jagged limestone.
There were alligators EVERYWHERE even lining the roads as we drove from one place to the next. I would definitely like to go back sometime. Below, I'm attaching a pic of a monster gator I got to see from a couple of feet away.

I went to the remaining part of the glades last summer, it was my 4th or 5th time there.... 3rd on an airboat. If you go to the gator farms they are awesome, they have whole lagoons of basically all gator heads and then the hatchlings, yearlings, and all the other stages housed in seperate parts.. Anyways, I could say I basically livei n the evergaldes, my being in Miami and all, but really, those days are long gone :\

Yup, they are nice, but they are mostly swamp, grassland, and a little bit of forest (maybe some mangrove forest here and there)..

I've never seen a wild hog in all my days here!

We did go on a couple airboat rides. Thanks for the compliments. I can't remember what park we went to first, then we left and went on another airboat ride inside the acutual everglades. Next year we're going to go on a private airboat tour. The alligators are everywherealothough we saw more on Highway 41 than "alligator alley" probably because alligator alley has a fence and 41 doesn't.

come to think of it the first 2 alligator pics were taken from the side of Highway 41
