So I have a $50 gift certificat to Amazon.com that's burning a hole in my pocket and so I am looking to expand my Herp Library.

Here are some books I am considering:
1. Snakes: The Evolution of Mystery in Nature by H.W. Greene (combines two passions- snakes and evolutionary theory!)
2. The Atlas of Snakes of the World by John Coborn (this one's $80... so maybe not!)
3. What's Wrong with my Snake? User-friendly reference... by John Rossi
4. Encyclopedia of Snakes by Chris Mattison
5. Tales of Giant Snakes: A historical account... by J.C. Murphy et. al.

I'd also like to pick up a book on RTB's. There's two I was considering.
1. Boa Constrictor Manual by Phillip de Vosjoli
OR 2. Captive Husbandry & Propagation of B. constrictors br David Fogel

Anyone read any of these?? Are they any good?
 
Haven't read any of those, but I have 2 other books by Chris Mattison that are quite good, if that's any help. :wavey:

for boa books, I'd get the Boa Constrictor Manual. As for the other list you had, get the ones by Mattison and Greene. I actually have all the books you list. They all have something to offer. It really depends on you. Just trying to see things from your point of view. So that's why I went with what I did.
One can never have too many books! My inner bookworm self replied at first...BUY THEM ALL! :crazy02:

lol Russell... I know, I read your responses in a few other library posts. :cheers: I think I am going to go with the snake encyclopedia by Mattison, the B.C manual, and one on reptile parasites, because that's really important to know about. *grins* I have a b-day coming up soon- so perhaps some well-meaning friends and family will knock a few others off of the list for me! ;)

Yeah,
I've done good with getting a catalog from Zoo Book Sales and circling the ones I want and keeping the catalog lying around. Sometimes she takes the bait. Other times, he, she just throws the catalog away! LMAO! She says I have too many books... She's no fun...

Carlos...here's that lesson again...

But anyhow, good choices! Have fun reading!
