Eye cap and bite relation maybe?

So for the longest time (about 2 - 3 weeks) my balls eye was capped and I did everything to get it off it just wouldn't come off and so I called the vet and he recommended eye drops? So I did so and I picked him up (Thursday) and he bit me after I had full control of him outside of his cage so I doubt it was because he thought I was food so I let him be a couple days and I handled him today and he was just like normal (except for him balling and hissing pretty bad but I ignored that) and his eye cap was gone (so obviously the eye drops worked) but still no logical explanation for the bite? (Sorry for posting about my ball on the corn snake page it won't let me post to the ball python page)

Sounds like a defensive bite. Could be irritability due to the retained eye cap, could just be he got annoyed. If he's hissing and balling, he's stressed, and a bite is possible. I would just try to give him some short, gentle handling sessions.
