ps, message cornsnake or something so I know where ya from.

Im also on there >Simon Cartwright<

Although I really dont use it that much to be honest lol

But I keep facebook for people I know and family and stuff. If I want to talk to snake owners I come here...

Agreed. Facebook has gotten a tad bit annoying. I log on to find out the contact info of my lab partner, and I have zombies, vampires, werewolves, pirates, and ninjas invitations, two friend requests from random guys who live in the area, an invitation to use the "quizzes" application, and someone who I haven't seen since middle school has sent me a random offer for free cellphone ringtones. :shrugs:

For me, facebook is just that: A face book.

nono, it's totally a popularity contest! Add as many friends as you can so you have twice as many as your snooty sister. haha.

I do like it to keep up with family, have contact info, creating events you can invite your friends too (Polar bear dip! Which I did), and I like how it organizes photos and you can share select albums with people who don't even have an account. I totally have one of just my snake photos.

So it isn't totally evil, I just don't see a point in adding people I don't really know. Everyone on the internet is fake! I know you're all just 45 year olds sitting in your moms basement in a storm trooper outfits hacking wikipedia! None of you fool me!

Face book was kinda cool a few years ago because it was much more elite. You could only join if you were a part of a university. It was a nice way to get to know your gtfs, classmate, and in some cases, teachers. If you listed what classes you were in you would be linked to other people who were also in the same class.

Of course sometimes teachers would call us out and say things like, "27 of you guys in here are also in the Dope Fiends group. :laugh01:

I really can't stand the function they added that gives you stalker like updates of your friends. Do I really care that Johnny has joined a group or added new pictures? Nope.

Yeah, facebooks gotten a lil nuts. I used to like it just cuz it had people in my classes, etc, and I could catch up with old friends who went to whatever other college.
Now I get attacked by pirates, jabbed to death, and stalker-ed...

Why would you want a FACEBOOK account when you can go to Reptile Geeks and be with other corn snake lovers?

Because I have friends out there who aren't into reptiles.

Thats why I have one. I have all the other people from my grade in my friends and we can plan parties and events and stuff. It is a very good way to connect with others in your school! But I agree, it is starting to get out of hand with all the applications and grade schoolers getting them. Ohh yea and too many adults...lol

Man, I joined Facebook to get away from Myspace, now it has surpassed Myspace in it's ability to annoy me daily!

So how's Reptilegeeks?

Do your schools use facebook as probable cause?

I am not sure if my high school does but I know that you have to be careful about what you say. Employers are starting to look on myspace and facebook more and more to see if you are the person you say you are. I know that in our yearbook they take some pictures off of facebook. I guess they have a right to do that? I mean we do put pictures up for everyone to see.

I know if we are part of certain clubs/frat/sorority/athletic teams in the school, and if my school sees drinking pics/smoking pics on facebook, can be used as probable cause... then the university police get to have fun with that.
:nope:

That's interesting. I knew about the employment thing. My college also uses it as probable cause and I was curious if anyone elses school did the same.
