Failed Feeding Attempt

nluogameno

Down but not out
:eek1: I Just fed my 1 1/2 ft. corn for the second time since I got him and he failed to eat. I think the first problem is that I shouldn't be feeding him live prey. I am gonna start stunning his prey at least. But this time he got the mouse but wasn't able to strangle it all the way and it got away. He freaked out and went straight to his cave. He seems pretty pissed off now so I am leaving him alone for now. How long till I can feed him again? And do you think that regular sized mice are to big for a 1 1/2 ft. corn?

I'd leave him at least 5 days before trying to feed him again.

As for size, the mouse should be 1 to 1.5 times the girth of the widest part of the snake. Without being able to see the snake and the mouse in question, I couldn't tell you if it is too big or not.
