Favorite Current TV Shows!

Okay, Amazing Race starts tonight!

I'm working my way through Breaking Bad, the final season, part one, on Netflix. Then I guess I'll get the last half from iTunes.

Netflix also informed me that Sister Wives 3 and Walking Dead 3 are available for streaming!

I've been dabbling with Dancing With the Stars and or course watching Survivor.

I'm waiting for the new season of River Monsters.

Breaking Bad...I've lived in NM since 1995, no need to relive what I've already seen.

Sadly, I've been rather bored with any shows on TV, my wife included. We ditched Comcast's cable TV for DirecTV a few years back because there wasn't anything worthwhile to watch and the price kept increasing. Our DirecTV contract is up in Nov and we're even considering ditching it; 200+ channels and just junk on. Everything we limitedly watch (food network, discovery network channels, TBS [for Big Bang Theory]) just isn't worth what we shell out. Additionally, we're both fed up with 30 minute shows being 5 minutes of show and 25 minutes of commercials. Even movies....last week we started watching Batman: The Dark Knight on FX and noticed they cut a huge chunk out of the movie within the first 20 or 30 minutes. So we loaded up our blu-ray copy and actually watched it from where we left off on TV to end, finishing it with 45 minutes of the TV version still to play - the TV version had that many commercial breaks!

There's no cable where I live. I'm not paying $75-100 for DSL. So that leaves antenna TV (I get everything except Fox) and Netflix. It's okay.

I like River Monsters. I never watch movies any more, except I am DYING to go see Bad Grandpa when it opens in October.

Personally I like American Horror Story... new season starts Oct 9th. Sleepy Hollow and Blacklist aren't bad either. Pretty sure Once Upon a Time starts again soon as well.

Second isn't bad but definitely not as good as the first. I'm pretty excited about the third. I've read some of the general plot points and with Kathy Bates & Angela Bassett added to the cast I have some decently high hopes. Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

All right Veronica...I'd heard that the second season of AHS was not as good as the first. From more people than you. And YOU ARE CRAZY!!! I watched the first ep, now on Netflix, and was terrified, disturbed, creeped out, and I watched three more episodes, home alone, till 1:15 AM. And I am going to put a big dent in it tonight. I LOVE season two. And hate it.

Just finished Sister Wives season 3. Always a comforting show, with nice family values. Really. And Amazing Race is over, and the pair I liked won. And Survivor Blood vs Water is winding down. I don't have a favorite yet. And DWTS is over- and one of my two favs won.

haha yeah I love how well scripted the AHS series are. When I saw the second season I was expecting more of content like the first. The second season wasn't as creepy for me.

However, after watching the second season... I think I'm appreciating the third season a lot more than I would have if I had skipped the second.

I did restart watching the second season, you'd think it would frighten me a lot more than it did with the alien-esque bits of it (I'm terrified anything even hinting around at alien life) but it didn't bother me.

I still like the first season of AHS best, in terms of my own interest and "fright". That said, the 2nd season was also quite suspenseful and chilling. Particularly when it seems like at every turn Lana tries to make she is stuck again. And that Lana scream, oh god, both blood curdling and annoying at the same time. The alien thing or whatever that part of the story was was kind of meh, so-so,, I could have done without it. I don't find the current season remotely near as "frightening", so to speak, as the first two seasons...but I really enjoy the story. It's still a good horror story.

I think the writers of AHS were genius in the way they developed the show. 1 season to pound out a good story. No need to drag on the same story for so long, season after season, as so many other shows do.

Yeah the current season isn't nearly as frightening as the first, however, I like the concept of witchcraft vs voodoo.

I agree the idea of each season telling a different story with the same cast being genius.

"The Blacklist". The best thing since "Breaking Bad" in terms of writing and casting, James Spader is outstanding in this, as he has been in every show he has been on.

I love AHS, and how each season is a different story. I think season 2 could have done away with the aliens, it made no sense, and instead should have continued with and strengthened the storyline of Dr. Arden's "experiments". They just dropped that storyline like a hot potato. I love "The Name Game" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOgNkrQBrdU (I like Sarah Paulson's enthusiasm when she starts to get into it) and this interview with "Pepper" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bsmFX1amrA. Season 3 is getting there, but season 1 is still my favorite. Jessica Lange is brilliant in every character she's played.

And pretty much anything on H2.

I watch SOA, too, on Netflix. I'm currently working through whatever season was on last year, 4 I think? Except I got distracted by SW and AHS.

When I feed snakes on Saturdays, (Usually 2-6 hours) I watch "easy" shows, where it doesn't matter if I pay attention. I love Take Home Chef, Oddities, {Strange}Sex, Best Food Ever Fatal Attractions, Infested, Out of the Wild, I'm Alive, Nature's Deadliest, After the Attack, Untamed Uncut, Deadly Dozen, Last American Cowboy.

Oh! I just found The Carrie Diaries on Network. But Season 1 is on Netflix. I think when I'm done with SOA I'm going to watch it.

I _almost_ got into Fringe, but it just didn't keep my interest. I think I only did about three eps, so I will probably try it again. But- you shouldn't have to try.

I'm not a TV person but I liked Breaking Bad a lot! I am sad that it ended. I also liked watching the Misfits (first 3 seasons were good, now it kinda sucks) and Workaholics on Netflix. My girlfriend and I have started watching a netflix show called "happy endings". It's pretty funny. I would recommend it, especially for younger people.
