Favorite Current TV Shows!

I heard Bates Motel was good. I want to try that.

And there's some sort of Bachelor/Bachelorette Island, or something, this summer. AND my favorite, BIG BROTHER!! Who's with me???

Does anyone watch BBC's Sherlock? It's an awesome show, except the next episode comes out in two years...

Well- it's summertime- time for Bachelorette and Big Brother!

I'm not really a fan of the current Bachelorette- Andi, but I still like the show.

Big Brother is only two shows in. I bought the live streaming this year just to see what it is all about. I guess I thought the shows were more "current," so there are a lot of spoilers in the live streaming, apparently.

Orange is the New Black season 2 was released in June, and I quickly watched it all. I love that show, and the second season was great, and the finale was amazing!! Loved it. I hope they go on for many more seasons.

I'm sort of checking in on America's Got Talent, but I don't really get into it until they are competing, not selecting.

On Netflix, I discovered a really cool show- I've Been Bitten- lots of snake bites, including "famous" people. And I started watching The L Word- I'm pretty hooked into it now.

The only current shows I'm tending to keep up weekly with these days are Game of Thrones and Orphan Black. Both of which had their season finale recently. Oh, and Orange is the New Black.

Now I'm watching non-stop World Cup!

Now that summer has rolled around, I get...

Defiance - Starting season 2. It's a terrible show with a great cast and mindless sci-fi fun!
Dominion - Series premier. A loose sequel to the movie Legion, it has an interesting premise and is proving to be entertaining enough.
Falling Skies - 4 seasons in and it's still going strong.
The Last Ship - Series premier. Based on a book. Global pandemic apocalypse type stuff. Starting to notice a sci-fi trend here.

Finishing up their seasons...
24 - Man I'm glad they brought this back for a 12 ep season.
Penny Dreadful - Not quite what I had expected but entertaining none the less.

Coming soon...
Under the Dome - Can't wait to see where season 2 takes us.

Special shout out to some mid season drop ins that I enjoyed...
The 100 - This show started out so horrible. And still isn't great, but it has some solid characters and an entertaining premise.

Connie and I have been looking for a new sitcom series on DVD to watch, but not having much luck. We liked "Seinfeld" and "Friends". Watched the first season of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" but threw it on the scrap pile. Thought it would be better since they seem to have run that show for a long time. Tried a few others but can't even remember their names now as I believe we just took them to Goodwill to be rid of them.

Glad we don't watch TV at all. Can't imagine sitting through that crap and being bombarded with commercials to boot. Whenever we are traveling and at a motel we will flip on the TV for a bit. I can't believe how many commercials they air. It's almost as unbelievable that people would actually sit through that stuff. So even if a really good show is on TV, I'll wait till it shows up on DVD.

Heck, we even stopped watching the weather channel when that followed suit with the bevy of commercials every 5 minutes. I really don't need sales people yammering at me all of the time.

Anyone here old enough to remember the selling point of cable TV? Yeah, right, NO COMMERCIALS. The reason was that viewers were already paying up front for their TV service, so commercials weren't necessary. That sure has changed.

What about Scrubs?? I love that!! Kind of funny, but with some serious stuff. The final episode STILL makes me burst out crying.

Not sure that would be my cup of tea. Every time I've ever been in a hospital it's not been much of a laughing matter.

I've been hooked on Netflix (and Amazon, since I married my husband who is a Prime member) for about 4 years now and seriously can't even watch more than 15 minutes of regular tv with commercials anymore, they drive me up the wall now!

Currently we are looking to get into another good series or two. We are getting by on Star Trek the Next Generation and Dirty Jobs but are about out of episodes on both of those. Problem is that we have had about enough of cop shows or medical shows and that seems to be nearly the only thing anyone wants to make!

Chuck is quite possibly one of the best tv shows ever (in my opinion naturally). Got a little something for just about everyone. Worth a shot if you've not already seen the series.

Also, I second Scrubs. Excellent suggestion by Nanci. Show is great, even with it's hospital setting.

"Nurse Jackie". Edie Falco is great in it, and Merrit Weaver won the Emmy for her role.

I second "Weeds"!

"24". Kiefer Sutherland is awewome.

Oh, and my guilty pleasure, "Big Brother".

Oooh, I love Nurse Jackie!!

Smigon- I got the BB Live Feed this season, and watched for 15.5 hours yesterday!! The only reason I stopped is because I had to get up at 0430 for work.
