Few Q's about dwarf boas

Sticking To The Ceiling
Okay, I'm looking for male and female average adult sizes (at about 3-4 years of age) for...

Costa Ricas
Caulker cays
Hogg Islands

I'm also curious about what has the best feeding response, and what can easily take medium rats. Pretty much looking for a garbage gut. XD

Our male Hog Isle is about 4' long at this point and is a 2008 year class. We do not feed aggressively and it took him all of those years to reach this size. He's probably still going to grow a little larger, but we don't expect him to be longer than 5 feet.

Compare that to our fully grown BCI male who is about 7.5 feet. The dwarfs really DO stay smaller.

I have a male Costa Rican, he should top out at about 4.5 feet. Females get about 5 feet. Actually I have Argento curled around my left hand now, making typing slow! XD I believe all three you listed reach about the same size. You can get a little more info plus pics at cuttingedgeherp.com.

I love my little guy; if you go with a dwarf, you'll be making a great choice!

Oh sorry, forgot the rest of your post. Re: Feeding response...reminds me of my bp. Sometimes a strong strike, other times I have to leave him alone for 30-60 minutes with the mouse in a tub.

I should think full grown one of these guys could take a medium rat, if not something larger. Can't say for sure, though, since Argento's still young. Maybe someone else can weigh in on that.

Caulker Cays mature at 3ft easy, while female Hogs can get to 7 ft. That's why I'm asking. XD

That's helpful though!

Heh, that's why I specifically asked for a male. I didn't care about gender when choosing a corn and then later a ball, though both ended up being male anyway. But with a dwarf boa, figured to increase my odds of getting a small individual, I better choose the smaller (in general) gender! ;)

I've got a male Costa Rican Adult that's 4 ft.... Just about.
You may find that being dwarf they are not garbage guts.. They should not be over fed as this isn't good for them.

I have a male hog island,
2.5 years old
2.7 pounds
55"
super cute! I took his measurements the other day, since I had a few people ask how big he is. I feed him a juvi rat every 1.5 weeks or so, and he still does have a bit of growing to do. He has lots of room in his 60 gal viv, he will take a mouse if my other don't eat it but he has refused a few meals (usually when in blue).

there he is with a paper towel tube. The picture was taken a few months ago though.
