Finally bought an Orchid

Chromatic Corns

Just one more
Since I narrowed my long term plans and decided not to breed for this morph that I really wanted, I bought one. He arrived today :)

He is a handsome boy! Congrats :)

?-- he looks like a normal corn to me (a rookie). How can you tell the difference?

Beyonkah, the Orchid is a sunkissed lavender. Their eyes are different (though hard to see in these pics) and he has the sunkissed head ~ shorter and with cute spots. His color change will as he grows and look less normal :)

Are you sure this one is a Sunkissed Lavender and not a Sunkissed het Lavender?
Hast got too much red and orange for a morph who lacks red pigments...

Compared to our Orchids, this one definately looks not like a hom Lavender?

It doesn't look terribly much like any lavender based morph I've seen either. But I'm not familiar with orchids in particular.

<---My avatar is my orchid girl. Love this morph! Nice boy you have. Make sure you keep a progression on him

Wow you have some beautiful lavender morphs. Were you able to produce the lava lavenders? I can't wait to watch my guy go through his color changes

I thought some more about this and decided that with the variability of all morphs in general and lavender in particular, I was premature to say it didn't look much like a lavender morph. I was thinking it didn't look particularly purple, but there is a reason lavender also had the name "mocha"... not all of them are very purple.

Then someone commented on "that orchid" on Steve Roylance's baby thread, so I went back a few pages to look at it again. It isn't very purple either. Here's a link if you are interested to compare it to yours:

I'll be interested see the the progression of this guy!
