I dont think he is joking
but it is odd why the red eyes are and not the black! i mean its not that big of a difference.... its still a corn!

wow.. what are we going to hear next? a law agaisnt the checkered bellies versus the non checkered?

they should allow all of them

There are wild populations of corns in New Jersey. They are normals and they are protected. By allowing red-eyed corns to be kept by herpers, they make enforcement of the protected status easy. At a glance, a wildlife official can be reliably certain that a red-eyed corn was not taken from the wild. But technically you probably can't own a caramel, which is a little silly.

Man! ... I wish it was a joke. But it's not!
We are only allow to have Amel, butters, snows, lavenders and pearls.
And I think... they frowen on breeding too. There thinking is that there is a chance of producing a normal. True, but it's still a captive bread.
Here a link on obtaining a permit. And the regulations.

And what is a pearl?? Anybody have a picture.

those. are. amazing. pictures.

i really really hope the colour on Tolmie turns out that awesome!
i can't wait for her first shed either :)

it's the same up here in BC- we're allowed corn snakes, but no garter snakes because they're a native species, and they're worried about people catching and keeping wild ones.

As much as I love garters, I'm glad you're not allowed to keep them. I was a camp counsellor, and I used to catch garters to show them to my campers and then release them- but there was always a kid who wanted to put it it a shoebox and keep it. I could always just tell them it was illegal. Also, it means that when I want to hold a garter or show one to a group of campers- I can still find them in the wild!

Regarding that carpet...
I had noticed when I used it that sometimes (Only when he would "coil back" If that makes sence) it could catch the tips of his scales and pull them in a really painful looking way. I only saw it happen twice, but the next time he shed, he was missing "tips" of like 7 or 8 scales.
Can't say that that caused it but I changed to aspen after.
