Finally, I finished the Burmese

I started this project last March and put it down for several months. It was extremely tedious, but turned out well I think.

Now I can start back on some "corn stitchin"

I am impressed! Do you make your own patterns or do you get them from somewhere? I used to be an avid cross stitcher but babies and other stuff got in the way, I just may have to pick it up again! Great cross stitch picture!

That's way cool, Mike. Gotta do a Ginger next. :)
Thanks, actually I've been trying to make a decent pattern of your boy, Leroy! The python was created by someone else. Making a pattern from a photo is a bit more challenging. Ironic, I can't sew a button back on to a shirt :shrugs:

Thanks Susan. My ex wife taught me how to do this and I just find it relaxing and rewarding. I have created some patterns of my own, the python is from a book. If you're interested, I have a few pics of my work here

I'm more than impressed, I'm in awe. That's some great work you've done there. I use to do some cross stitch myself and your pics now have me wanting to pick it up again. Is there a trick to making your own patterns? It would be nice to take pics of snakes my friends own and make gifts from them. Any inside tips would be great.

Again, beautiful work!

Thank You. You need a software program that will convert an image to a pattern. I use PC Stitch, but there are better ones out there. You can download trial versions of most and see what works best for you. Just do a google search for cross stitch software

I am definitely impressed as well, Mike. As another (former)cross-stitcher I know how many hours of tedious work goes into them. Nice neat stitching as well
