First clutch hatching now ....

I noticed one of the eggs from my motley x opal clutch was pipping this morning ...

And this afternoon, look what I've got - a HUGE normal het opal motley baby. Can't wait for the rest to hatch :)

Congrats Toyah! Yer very first clutch must be sooo exciting, I can't wait for mine!

Lets hope you get a wee amel or two in there too, that would be awesome!

Well, total count is ten ... almost eleven.

Nine normals (I won't bore you with pictures of each of them, but here's a couple)

They all hatched about the same time, but today we had one final hatchling - a motley. Unfortunately it doesn't appear well, but we will see how it does

I slit the last egg, which showed a dead in shell hatchling that looked to have died a wee while back. Interestingly, it had the domed head that has been mentioned a few times on here, so I took a wee picture to document it.

So - it appears my motley girl doesn't carry amel or anery, but my opal het anery male is apparently also het motley...

Congrats on the clutch, those sure are some nice plump hatchlings! That's cool that the male had such a neat unknown het in there, hope the motley does well for you.

The DIE dome head looks kind of extreme from the angle in the pic. That's the only part of breeding that makes me feel sad.

Oddly the dome head was also a motley. Nine normals and two motleys ... perhaps he carries some sort of mutant "bad motley" gene :grin01:

Unfortunately the little kinked motley hasn't eaten anything, though she managed to shed unaided. We will keep trying for a little while with her ...

The rest are all eating anything you give them, and looking great.
