Florida King Big Jake's Gloomy Day

Nanci

Alien Lover
Big Jake was out when I went to get a cup of coffee, so I invited him out. He took me up on that, and proceeded to twine around in my hair and nearly rip it off my head. (Big kings and any kind of ponytail do NOT mix!) After I got him untangled, I decided to take him out for some pictures.

The watergarden didn't work out too well. I was afraid for Frogger, and Jakey seemed to want to sink to the bottom and disappear. So next we visited the sycamore.

Great shots Nanci, the watergarden one is my fav as always.

I have found out that Halmahera boas HATE swimming, they literally freeze and sink to the bottom when they come into contact with standing water deeper than them. I think they would be lost forever in your watergarden.

Beautiful snake Nanci and awesome pics! I know one thing for sure; I want to be reincarnated as one of your pets!!! They get rock star treatment from you!

Jake is absolutely darling! I love the tree shot.

Who's frogger? A local who moved in?

Frogger is the first tadpole that developed in my pond. I found him July 19th. Since then, there have been uncountable tiny green treefrogs, but no more Froggers. I see him, usually, in the evenings when I am sitting out there. Just saw him two nights in a row!

Ahh, what a cutie! He's wondering if that big snake is anywhere about!

Thank you! You should see him in person- he is immense! And STRONG! And a little cranky. He does a lot of heavy sighing when I first get him out, as well as pleasant-smelling invisible musk. He's very slow and steady, though, and I have trusted him to not bite children. He came from Jay and PJ (Thanks!!!). He bit me once; it was totally my fault. Look for the thread "When Jake Attacks" to see the damage...

Those are fabulous pictures! I LOVE seeing your water garden--when I grow up I want one. I love the portrait of Jake's snakey face!
