Frozen feeder halves...

So what am I doing wrong? It seems like both feedings my feeders have split in half. Is it something I am doing?

First the pinkies. Then the fuzzy. As I take them out of the pack, they come apart about halfway down.

No they are just the standard plastic packets from the pet store. Not vacuum packed. I drop em in some warm water (not hot) for 20-30 min the cut the top and slide them out. They seem to all split both times. (First time 3 pinkies, this time 1 fuzzie)

Try sitting them on the counter to defrost, 20-30mins is all it takes for those sizes, then place in hot tap water for 5 mins to heat through.

Did they come from the same place? It sounds like freezerburn, but try what Alicia said. Use very hot tap water to warm them up.

This seemed to work this time. I let them thaw at room temp for about 30 min, then dropped in hot water for a few minutes. Came out fully in tact and thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks all :)
