Fuego and Frio

Just an update and a few pictures on our snakes I've bought from members here.

This is Fuego. We bought him from Nanci in October 2012, so now he's 2.5 years old. He's gotten big, 505 grams, but not fat yet. He's a happy guy with a great demeanor. He's a bit more shy during the day and usually stays in his hides, but he's very calm and likes to chill when held.

Here's a picture that Nanci took of him in the daylight before we bought him that makes his bands easier to see.

This guy here is Frio. We got him earlier this year from Yarmuck. He's just over 3 years old and weighed 330 grams recently. This guy is quite the character and has the oddest behavior. He's always out roaming his cage and will come to your hand when you put it near him. Also, he always pops his head out of wherever he is when you come into the room and usually comes right up to the glass where you are if you go near him. I've never seen a more attention loving, outgoing snake.

These guys are pretty spoiled. They have 40 gallon tanks and get regular attention and exercise. We even take them to the park so they can crawl in the grass every once in a while (we live in the desert so we make the trip). They're happy snakes that make us happy! :D

They are both gorgeous, just be careful of the chemicals they apply in the parks. Is that a blizzard or a whiteout?

<sigh> I miss the days when I had few enough corns to devote that much time and care to each one individually. You really lose something when you have to switch them to bins with name-tags. . . .

A lovely pair--they're lucky to be with you!

Love these setups. See some of the same hides and stuff in the local stores near me, but would have never thought to use them in the configuration you have. Good stuff.

Love the shot of Frio along the front of the cage. Do you place aspen inside the rock hide there or do you use a different type of bedding or moss?

Thanks for the compliments folks! I tried using sphagnum moss in their rock hides but found that it doesn't bed down very well and as a result I think the snakes didn't spend very much time in them. Once I put the aspen chips in there instead they spend much more time in there. Sometime when they're ready to shed I'll add some water in there for humidity and they seem to like it too.
