Fugly Stripe

I normally don't like the striped corns... but I like her. I'd buy one =D

Can I reserve a fugly hatchling?

O no! I think I started a Fugly craze! :grin01:

Guess I'll have to figure out what to breed her to that won't ruin her "Fuglyness" for 2008. See how they do in sales and what not before mixing other fun stuff in. :shrugs:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to MohrSnakes again.
:roflmao: Jeff, you've made my day! I wasn't too thrilled about the coffee out my nose, however...

She has an Upper Keys look to her, in my opinion. Like she's an Upper Keys Stripe... I for one LOVE Upper Keys Morph... I think she is STUNNING & would LOVE a snake like that
I agree with everything you've said here, Lore. :)

I think that is a FANTASTIC looking snake, Stephanie. :eek1:

Ok, ok...

But I'm still calling them Fuglys...

Anyone have an Upper Keys male that they wouldn't mind making hets? :)
I do. Here's my '03. He's one of the clear-belly, extreme-Keys-look Upper Keys. He has no plans for '08.

Ooo! I have an 07 Upper Keys het Bloodred male named "Stunner". I hope he looks as sweet as your boy when he grows up.

Here's the description of an adult "Original Granite I was provided by Jeff:

Granite corns pattern continues to shatter and break up as they age once they are over a year old they don't even look like a stripe. The belly of a granite is almost pure white except for a little bit of bright orange flecking.

Funny how still no one can provide a photo of an adult yet they want to still lay claim to the name. :shrugs:

I will take two fugly hatchlings! The underside is stunning though, ive never seen a corn with such a........seashell like appearence on the belly.

I was tryin' to put my finger on what her belly looked like & that's a pretty good description Cube! She looks very iridescent in the picture. But I like her granite coloring. Pretty wild to have the 'one & only' Adult...;)

These are the only photos I could find of the "original granite" corns. They are off Jeff's website (www.jmgreptiles.com) so he's got some adult pics laying around somewhere...

Anywho... there seems to be the definite "keys" look, to both your girl and the pictures below. I wish there was a belly pic to compare...

Jeff told me (complete post on the "Original Granites" thread) that the belly on her is definitely weird, but not the same as what he has. He says that they are pretty much pure white outside a bit of orange speckling (not the grey mine has).

The photos on his web site are also the only ones he has. The original adult female died of egg binding, so it's not even possible for him to provide any updated pics.

I think first step with the "Granites" is to breed it to a Stripe. That's what I'll do if I can weasel one out've Jeff as soon as they hatch (he told me October). :)

For me I see more yellowing in those pics where as 'Fugly' her coloring is much more richer, orangie/tanish. Love it! Would love to see what you can produce from her. I would love a stripe & she is very pretty!
Take more photos. Not tired of looking at her. hehe ;)

So, its been a while since I've been able to dig up my Manual.... How far did the breeding tests go on the granites? Was there ever any "recessiveness" proven out as a seperate gene? Or are we still speculating it?
