glass tanks

:confused:i am new to cornsnakes an have just recently got two which i keep in a glas tank are glass tanks ok for them.

i have been told by other people that corn snakes cannot survive in glass tanks.

can someone help me please

Most people keep them in glass tanks. I dont know how a glass tank can kill a corn snake. Just make sure the tank is properly ventilated with a screen top.

Glass tanks are fine. But you do need other supplies.

The tank needs a secure mesh top to let air in and keep the snakes in.

You need an under tank heater (UTH) with a thermostat on one side of the tank to keep your snakes warm.

Also, water bowl, hidey holes, etc.

Also, you should consider getting another tank and separating your snakes. Corn snakes do better alone than they do together. It's possible to keep them together, but you do run the risk of them hurting each other or possibly killing each other.

 ive never heard any problems with glass cages >.>

All 4 of my snakes live in glass tanks :D

Like Gothpixel said though, you need heat pads, thermostats water bowls and lots of hide space :) especially if they are new snakes, they will need a lot of things to help them feel secure and safe. :)

If you find your snake is maybe rubbing on the glass a lot, you can take plain paper and put it around the bottom ledges for about 5 inches and usually that helps them feel a bit more secure in the open space of a glass viv.

But yeah other than that, there shouldnt be anything wrong with a glass tank :) (other than being heavy lol)

Like everyone said, glass is ok, just want to look at seperating the 2. Cohabing is not a good idea. There is alot of information on cohabing if you do a search on this site. good luck with the new ones

I really like the zilla critter cage. The lid fits perfectly and securely with no lip for the snake to get caught in.

Not sure who said glass tanks can kill a corn...and if that be the case, I'm not sure a plastic tub would be remotely better. Which makes you wonder what in the world they would be keeping a corn snake in :D

what you should do is go to visionarium web page and order the replacement parts for a cage and the go to glass store and and just buy the sheets of glass there i did that and save like $200 ;)
