Guess what I found today...

DragonBoy

Crazy Cornsnake Breeder
I was cleaning pens today and I found a female BP het albino coiled on 6 obviously fertile eggs. I had her in with the one pastel het albino male months ago and apparently it worked.
This was not expected at this time of the year. So (to sound like a total green horn) now what? Do I take them like I would cornsnake eggs and toss them on a shelf or leave mom to her own devices?
She has laid in the last 4-5 days...I was not expecting this now. WOW. Might I add compared to the overall circumference of the snake these are bloody huge.

Not to lead you away from this forum, but check out ball-pythons.net for some great tips.

There are still some people who have success in letting mom do it her own way. You need to make sure you have a reliable heat source and reliable control for that heat source if you choose to leave them in there....you also what to move the water dish close to mom so she can drink without having to go too far. From what I've read, she won't eat until they hatch...but she'll be just fine until then. You also need to monitor the humidity closely...you have to provide the water for mom, but not let it get too humid for the eggs. If you see she has kicked one of the eggs out from the rest...candle it....but chances are it's a dud.

Check out that website, lots of BP specific info on there :)

Oh ya...and the key to letting her successfully hatch these on her own is sending my one when they are hatched...fo' free. lol

update...

mom is eating again. Eggs are now 2 weeks in the bator and looking good.
Just a mere 45 or so days to go.
