Has anyone ever...

Cornographer
Has anyone ever really caught an escaped Corn in a bottle trap or by using the cocktail sticks, scrunchy paper or flour methods?

I don't know if this will help. But i used the Bottle trap baited with a freshly thawed pinky to trap a wild black racer that has been seen around the apartment this week. If it worked for him i am sure it would work for a hungry escapee. All tough i knew where to set up the trap because i had seen him in the same location more than once.

I have tried all of the trapping methods you listed...without any luck. In the end, my snakes were found by my inquisitive cat and yappy chihuahua. One was missing for about 3 weeks, and the other was only gone for a couple of hours...I imagine if they had been hungrier, the traps would have worked. I guess I just got REALLY lucky.

Why yes I have. The bottle or inverted wire cone traps are actually very effective. Works well on both WC and CB populations.

I've used the bottle/cone method twice. Didn't work either time but that could be because my snakes were no where near the traps. First time was when two of our snakes escaped the same night. Found Shadow 3 weeks later crawling across our foyer floor as we came home (Sparks is still MIA). My little ghost, Sweetheart, escaped last week and I just found her the other night. She escaped upstairs, in my boyfriend's room and I found her downstairs, crawling around by the kitchen (halfway across the house). Go figure. She was heading towards the stairs so who knows, we might have caught her that way. Whether or not they have worked for me I always put them out on the off chance that it would work that time.
