He got eggs!!

What addiction?!
This lovely girl belongs to my oldest son. She bred to a normal het pied male for 5 months. My son was so tired of waiting for eggs. LOL This morning when I checked on her she was moving around and getting a drink. 2 hours later I just happen to lift the blanket covering the side of her tank to find an egg coming out. I think I was a bit shocked. Well, not wanting my son to miss seeing her with the eggs, I left her be until he came home. He was ecstatic. Using a hook I lifted the mom and my son removed the eggs and placed them in their incubation box. The smallest egg weighs 88 grams and the largest is 98 grams. He is hoping his girl is het pied in hopes to hatch a little pied for him self. For his sake I hope so too. :)

Wow! They look so much more substantial than corn eggs! By bred for five months, do you mean lived together and did it for five months? I bet fertility won't be a problem!! Tell your son congratulations!

They were first put together back in September. Then they were separated every 2-3 days to feed, if it was feeding time, or to just take a break for a couple days. Then put back together and repeat the cycle. The male bred her ever_single_time he was in her cage. I candled them after they were put in perlite and they all have very big visible veins. So I bet you're right about the fertility. :)

Oh that is sooo cool!! I remember my first BP eggs. Jason was at work and I looked in at my girl (just like your son, I had to wait months!) and I seen 3 HUGE eggs!! I freaked out bc I had no idea they'd be THAT BIG! I called Jason at work all hysterical. lol Its funny to look back on now.

I bet that made your boy's day. That's awesome. Congrats to him and toes and fingers crossed that there's a pied in there!!

I hope he gets a pied, you have to post pics of the babies when they come out.... I wish my parents would have been snake people when I was a child....

Those are great looking eggs. I will keep my fingers crossed for pieds. Is he going to sell some of the hatchlings? Oh, and how long until they hatch?

He said he's going to sell the ones that aren't pieds. LOL It should take about 60 days. :)
