help!
My little snow corn has some issues that i'm a little worried about. First off, theres a little green spot in his belly, you can see it only when you hold him up to the light so you can see what's inside him. I'll try to get some pics. The other thing is that when he sheds theres a little bit of blood on the shed where the scute is, i don't know what that is either. if you can help I would greatly appreciate it.
thanx;)

exitree,

lol
don't worry about it
all those are actually normal~
for the little dot inside him, that might just have been poop... since it's a snow corn you can sometimes see the inside of the snake under light...prety cool in my opinion...so don't worry about that.

about the little blood in shed. That is also normal too. Some people even use this little blood in scale to determine the sex of the snake. Some say that when a male sheds, there are little blood on the shed due to the hemipenes.

I don't really agree with this but some people just do it that way...

but anyway both 'issues' seemed normal to me~

don't worry.
As long as the snake is eating, sheding, and pooping alright. There shouldn't be too much of a problem with the snake~

Hope this helped~
Happy Herping!

 I feel so releaved(sp?) now!!

thanks for the reply. I was so worried that the little green spot was like a disease or something because i bought him at petco (which i know is the WORST place to buy any animal, but he looked so lonely and his habitat was horrible(just a lil bowl of water and aspen shavings) so i had to get him outta there). Now i just have to work on his psychological issues, he's like addicted to water, he dunks his head under for 1 minute then comes up for a lil air and goes right back under, when i fed him in his feeding tank he even tossed the mouse in the lil tupperware thing of water and tried to eat underwater (i think that he thinks he's an Anaconda :p) lol silly snake
thanx again;)

acually, the little green spot may be a poo, or it could have been a ruptured organ. i have seen this before in other snow corns, it is acually great that you have a snow corn because otherwise you couldnt see the organ on a reg. corn. It might be poo, but if you are still seeing blood i would REALLY take him to the Vet AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!
I wish you the best of luck.

Yeah snow corns are great. If you hold him up to the light you can see his heart beat and see his lungs move (be careful the light isn't hot or putting off a lot of heat). I use a flash light. If it looks like a little dark oval and is prob around an inch(plus or minus) from the slit it is probably poop. As my snow tends to poop a few minutes after I pick him up and start playing with him ... I have learned to have a paper towel near and just hold him over it. You can tell when he is all done cuz there is no more dark spot. Mine doesn't need a flash light for that end.

luvmycorn, this thread is over 3 years old!!!

It's handy if you check the dates on threads and only reply if it's still applicable.
