Heart-attack, anyone?

So I mentioned in another post that I tend to be a worrier, but holy cow I just almost had a heart attack. We left the house for a few hours, and came just a few minutes ago. I looked in Vera's tank, you can usually see her at least a tiny bit hiding but she was nowhere to be found. I literally took every single thing out of her tank and she was still nowhere and by this time I was completely freaking out. She is only 12 inches long, if she got out I doubt I would ever see her again. I started running a chopstick under the reptibark and sure enough she was completely buried, right on top of her heat pad! Thank goodness for thermostats, right?! I didn't know such a little thing could push her way down through over an inch of bark, but she sure showed me!

On the plus side, the burrowing almost completely took care of the shed stuck on top of her head!

Thanks for the info, zazoo31! I have looked into it pretty extensively cause I worry about everything haha. I fully expect her to burrow again and pull the piece off, but if she doesn't, she will be fine with it coming off with her next shed. She doesn'thave stuck shed anywhere else.
