Hi everyone!
I'm kind of new to this forum but I've been lurking around it for a few days. I'm fairly new to snakes, but I've got three corns right now and love them all to death.

Two of them are mine, I've got an amelanistic okatee youngster who's about 8 months old and a real looker. Jake's pretty feisty but has never struck, postured or even rattled his tail. Right now he's been enjoying the company of my roommate's baby striped normal (aptly named Stripey ) and the two of them get along well. They're in a big tank with lots of hides, however they choose to follow eachother around and curl up where ever the other goes.

My other snake is a two and a bit year old Ghot corn, she's absolutely gorgeous and I actually just got her yesterday. Comapred to the other ones, she's pretty massive. She's going through a shed right now, but was very happy for me to carry her around the petstore while I talked to the people in the snake department and happily sat through a lengthy show and tell session when we got home. She'll have a few days just to kick back and relax and get used to her new home. We just got her a huge vivarium which she's out and exploring as I type. I think that we settled on calling her Monica.

There was a gorgeous female sunglow there but she was about $100 out of my price range. But holy moley, she was definatly one of the most striking snakes I've seen. I was also considering getting an ultra(hypo) amelanistic...something while I was there, she was a pale pink with brown sadles just a fantastic looking thing, but I really was looking at getting a bigger snake right now.

Anyyyyyyyyways, I'm not sure if I can post pictures here, but here goes:

(and no, she wasn't really pulling, however Monica wasss good and stuck!)

Welcome :)

Seems we have a little in common,I have an older snow corn 4-5yrs. too bad she's also female. My girl friend also has a stripped but hers is Amel Motley female. And my little guy is a reverse Okeetee.
Too bad there both female or would have been great to breed the older ones!
Well were about you from? I am in Kitchener, Ontario.
You close by? Are you going to the Reptile Expo in Mississauga around the beginning of April? I am trying to get a rack system together fast as the snake addiction has me bad and I know I will be trying to buy a breeding pair and some documented young one 3-4 females and 2 males in case something happens to one. Not sure of the strain but would love to get on of the really bright yellow corns, not sure of true name?
Oh well love to chat and if you do live close by maybe we could met up at the expo for a chat?

I actually live right by you, I'm living in downtown Guelph right now. Depending on how much money I have, I'd love to go to a reptile expo, I didn't even know it existed until now, so thanks.

HI! welcome the forum.. um, just to give you a fair warning before anyone else gets a little offensive, almost everyone on here doesn't recommend keeping 2 snakes together. just thought i'd give you the heads up..

I've seen it said, however they're too small to do each other any damage and they're obviously living together stresslessly and are obviously comfortable with eachother's company.

When they're older they'll be seperated.

okay! thats good, just dont defend yourself to much and you should be ok and not get pummeled by everyone else! lol

I'd like to think that I know my snakes better than people online and that I'm attentive enough to see to any problems as I see fit. They live in plain view of me and I'd know if it was an issue.

Not sure what you want but both work for me. Would you like to meet there or need a ride? Either works for me!
I have heard it is a really good time and costs are really cheap on snakes, substrates, UTH heaters...pretty much all you can think of they have.
We are also planning on wrapping the thing with a trip to the old spagggtti factory if everyone wants to????
I might buy or at least make some good contacts for good hatchling breeders!
Proable still walk away with a few as I am a sucker!!
Let me know what you are thinking so we have time to line it up! A ride is no probablem but like some notice!
Glad to meet either way, It should be a great time either way!
Bill

Oh yeah Girl Friend lives on York road by Victoria so a ride from home would be no probablem if thats what you need and just want to go for a shop. Also we don't have to do the diner thing if money is tight! Main thing for me is show and I am pretty sure hot dogs and sausages on the bun will be there too and work for me!!
Let me know ASAP
Bill

If I go, I'll likely be bringing a few people with me so I'll probably be catching a ride with one of them. I'd love to meet up there though.

Sounds great!

I think the have a beer tent/food court and we could meet there!
I can where some pretty easy to spot close and for sure meet up.
Bill
