Hello all!

I'm a new to keeping snakes and my Carolina Corn is my 1st animal.
His (it hasn't been sexed but I refer to it as a he) name is the cause of much debate, I want to call him Solid but my best friend wants to call him Sid.

Anyhoo, his story is a complicated one. I bought him and his 1st viv at a local pet shop, being a rookie I listened to the advice given to me by the shop owner, later to discover this was to my peril.
Now I had researched the care of Corn Snakes before I went out and got one to prepare myself, but I assumed the shop owner would know some stuff too right?

Well, he sold me the viv, it looked good. I was to later find it was NOT snake proof... This is the viv in question

So, after 3 days he managed to climb up on to the spiral lamp I had installed, squeeze through the closure clips and go on a merry adventure around my flat, for 3 weeks.

Later, I found him outside my bedroom door. He was wrangled and placed in a feeding tub while I bought a new viv, wooden with glass doors. From my Facebook album about the snake
Feel free to browse the Facebook album, I've made it public to share.

I'm going to be buying more furniture for the little guy soon, I need to pay off a credit card bill first...

Sorry about the epic 1st post guys!

Wow! You are lucky you found that little sucker! He sure is cute, and, ummm...........resourceful! :D He looks like he could get out of almost anything, the way he was exploring the lock and where the glass doors meet. He *KNOWS* that's the exit. Smart snake. But his new viv looks pretty secure! :) I take it you only have the light ON when you are observing him? I don't think I've ever seen a viv with an inside light like that, exposed. I would be worried about an electical short and/or the snake getting shocked, etc. But that's just me. I am new. Some experts around here might have some insight. He's a cutie.

He is a little evil genius. :)
I am sure given enough time he will figure how to pick the lock using his tail!

The light set up is safe and insulated and is only on a timer so is only on during daylight hours.

So pretty after his shed! Thanks for the mouse pics; I'll get to see that for the first time soon.

Updated pictures!
And I have settled on Aspen bedding for the little guy. The reptile carpet didn't allow enough heat from the UTH to reach his belly, he likes to burrow and hide so I kept finding him under it, plus cutting the carpet to the exact size of my slightly awkwardly proportioned viv was a nightmare!
Aspen for the win.
