Hello from Western New York

Monty

New member
My name is Steph, I'm 21, and just bought my first corn about a month ago. Not sure if its a boy or a girl but I refer to it as "him" and named him Monty.
I was told by some members here that he's a normal possible het diffused.
I bought him from a pet store before reading that I shouldn't, but he seems to be doing pretty good so far so I think any problems that could have come from the pet store are now in the clear.
I've done a lot of research on cornsnakes, but still feel like there is a lot to learn. So far he has been eating normally, has a docile temperment when being handled (which is more and more each day), and is just a joy to me and my boyfriend.
I'm here to learn all I can about his care, and also share his progression with a bunch of random internet strangers who for some reason I feel will care more about him than most of my close friends.

Welcome Steph. There is a lot of good info here and helpful, caring people, when you can't find the answers.

Many people have gotten perfectly good corns and other snakes from pet stores, so no worries since yours is doing well. I think the chances of problems are greater when bought at a pet store. Of course, there can be issues with ones bought from breeders too, but usually that happens a lot less.

Again, welcome!
