I just found this little guy in my back yard. He's not very fast, but I ended up using a stick to get him in the bucket because he kept tagging me. :grin01:

After seeing the tail is it maybe a black whip snake?

This is a differnt variation of whip snake but its the same kind of shape, especially the tail

I dunno... the spots say ratsnake but the headshape looks more garter snake-ish... (I know it's not a garter though)... Don't think it's a black rat...

lol... I would say whip snake of some sort JUST because of the tail. I know theres many pattern variations on whips and the head is quite rat snakey...

Yep! It matches that perfectly. I just took about 30 pics trying to get one of his head pattern, but they all came out to dark. :rolleyes:

I caught him mid-tag a few times though.
