Ok so I understand there are many varieties of color and that colors may change as the snake gets older but here is a picture of my little guy any help as to what he might eventually look like or what variety he is?
Yes, he will be very much the same color, maybe more reddish or yellowish. Do a search on this site for amelanistic...you will find plenty of beautiful specimens.
I bought it at petco so they didn't have a variety name listed but they were helpful and for the most part correct and it wasn't as intimidating as trying to call up a private breeder.
And being from "Petco" you probably paid about twice
you would have at a breeder or Reptile store.
(The Reptile Image in San Diego has Amels for $25 &
LLL has them for $18.99)
My Petco has them "on sale" for $49.95...
I paid $30 haha they had a medium sized (about a foot and a half to two) on sale for $70 but it apparently had quite a foul temper that why it was so cheap and like I said I may have paid a bit more but I was comfortable there and they were quite helpful and I didn't have a clue how to go about finding a breeder.
There's a subforum on here that is made up of a group of hobbyists and breeders in the SoCal area. They'll be more than glad to help you find local breeders. Don't be intimidated; you like snakes, they like snakes. You already have something in common to talk about :*)
