HELP NEEDED! w. a friends BP!

Cuddling with Colubrids<3
hey everyone so I have a friend, she's not a very close one but we get together here and there, anyways about 2-3 months ago I'd say she went and got a baby ball python, like I mean a BABY! I have never seen a baby BP before so his size was pretty neat, when she first got him she was told he had eaten no problem several times, on f/t rat pups, but when she brought him home she didn't let him settle in at all, and she has been handling him a lot since bring him home, here's where I'm starting to get worried.

when I first seen photos of him he looked plump and he weighed in at 156g (that's what the breeder had told her he weighed) and I brought my scale over to check him out and he was 138... and I could CLEARLY see his spine.. and his tongue was barily flickering compared to my guys.. but I don't own a BP so I don't reapply know if not flicking its tongue is a bad sign or not..

anyways, I'm looking to try and help her out! but I have no idea where to start!
he's a male, normal ball python, and he hasn't eaten once!

if anyone has any advice for me to give to her I would much appreciate it!
her next guess is to try a live mouse? but being a BP that doesn't sound right...

please help! :(

I don't think my ball python flicks his tongue nearly as much as the colubrids do!
But definitely give her that information :)
