HELP! SLUGS

Woke up this morning and found this. Very happy about the lay but I can't understand why there are so many slugs. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happens. It was from a Snow X Snow pairing. Both snakes are healthy and eat great. Temps in the rack are correct. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is it a young female, first time gravid? That might be one reason. Male may be infertile or did not connect with female. Female may be infertile.

Maybe he just didn't transfer the sperm this year or didn't develop it. Most breeders try to put the pairs together enough that they see 3 actual lock ups.

In addition...the male may have hooked up with female too late to fertilize all the eggs or had a low sperm count due to being kept too warm or having bred too many females too close together. And sorry Wade, but the female can't be infertile if she laid eggs.

Nope...Murphy about covers it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything I was doing wrong or something I may have overlooked. On the up side she did lay 6 good eggs. And I have been curious and know it's a change of subject but I've been finding an abundance of different answers. Proper Incubation temp. I currently have it set at 82F I've heard 80 and Ive heard 40. I've also heard that a variance in temp actually produces a better Male to Female ration. Any thoughts on this?

82* is what I have always shot for. 80* will work but take longer. Temperature has been shown to effect sex ratio in several reptiles but I don't think there has ever been anything to show that was the case with corn snakes.
