Help! Stuck tape!

I had a rosy boa get out weeks ago and I just found her, she got caught in some masking tape traps I had down. Unfortunately this tape has decided that it is super glue instead and has grabbed on tightly. I got the pieces stuck to her back half off with a liberal application of coconut oil but she has a piece on her neck and lower jaw, luckily not on her upper jaw, so she is able to breathe but she can't close her mouth and I'm not sure how to get this off of her without hurting her. Any suggestions, please!

That's why I use cheap masking tape like from $1 stores or really old tape. But to get that off I have used room temp. tap water and maybe alittle soap. Just a little at a time and once it gets wet it won't restick. I usually run tap water (again room temp) but you have to be a little careful around the head. Just take your time.

Vegetable oil, some q-tip's, a lot of patience and an extra hand or two should do the trick.

Soak in any cooking oil...it usually comes off pretty quickly.

Strangely, Red Bull will remove sticky tape, too.

I'm sure red bull, like coke, will remove anything...including wax off floors. Might kill your snake with it though. I don't even want that near me to say nothing of my precious animals!

If I can make one suggestion for anyone setting snake tape traps it is this: Buy BLUE PAINTER'S TAPE! I can't stress that enough. Not green, and never white masking tape. Those don't come off easily. Blue painter's tape is sticky enough to trap them, but peels right off. It's not cheap, but it works wonders.

It finally came off and the area doesn't look too bad, some of the scales are a little messed up but none seem to have come off. Where the lower body pieces came off are a little pink but don't look too bad either. This was the super cheap white masking tape stuff, I'd never heard about there being a difference in the types of brand/colored masking tapes in setting out tape traps. But if (God forbid) ever have another escapee, I'll be sure to get the blue stuff!

I think you could get blue tape off of a scaleless. Not that I hope to ever find out!

Just keep the snake on clean paper towels until you're sure there's no issues with the scales and to more easily monitor them. Glad all is well!

When Cornwallis was a few months old, I came home one day to find her completely wrapped up in a piece of duct tape I'd used to tape down her temperature probe (at the time I knew no better). I mean, all twisted around and everything. It took ages to get off, but liberal applications of vegetable oil did the trick. I felt like an ass. Glad everything worked out okay!

Here is the freshly shed Emma, looking soooo much better! Looked quite horrible before the shed. I didn't pick her up to check closely but from what I could see, it looked like the messed up scales on her neck are about back to normal.
