Help with morphs!?

Hello!

I am expecting my first clutch any time now!
I have a female anery and a male white out/ blood red blizzard (this is from what I can work out, the people we effective rescued them off didn't have a clue..)

Can anyone advise what morphs I can expect from
The clutch?

I am aware there is a morph calculator but this totally goes over my head as I am new to the breeding side of things!

Any advice would be great :)

If the female doesn't have any hets and the male isn't het for anery, then you won't get any morphs from this pairing. The hatchlings will all be normals, all het for anery, diffused, amel, and charcoal.

All four morphs are recessive, so they can only appear if they get two copies of the gene. One copy comes from the mother and one from the father.

The father has two copies of each of the diffused, amel, and charcoal genes and therefore will pass those on to the offspring. However, the mother lacks these genes, so she can only provide the normal gene, and the offspring will be normals. Similarly, the mother has two copies of the anery gene and will pass it on, but the father lacks it and will only provide the normal gene, and the hatchlings will all be normals.

Because your snakes are rescues with unknown pedigrees, there's no way to know if they may be het for other morphs. I wouldn't be surprised if these two were brother and sister, in which case you may get some really cool results! Inbreeding is very common in the hobby, and doesn't appear to cause any problems that I'm aware of. It simply isn't the same with snakes as it is for mammals.

"Het," by the way, means that they have one copy of the gene, so they can pass it on but don't show the trait themselves.

Hey!
Thanks so much for your response , and not being judgemental about not knowing my stuff when it comes to paint jobs etc, I thought I might get roasted!

And I've been wondering about if you can breed if they are brother and sister (apparantly they aren't, but who knows!) good to know you can.

So basically, it's gunna be a lucky dip, that kind of makes it more exciting haha!
We will have to wait and see!
Thanks again :)

No problem! :D I love it when I get to talk about genetics! Hehehe. ^^ good luck! Make sure you read the wealth of information here about incubators and lay boxes and all those goodies. :3

Just looked in the Viv and found 22 eggs! It looks like there is at least one more coming as she has a huge bulge near her vent!

I've set the incubator up at 28 degrees and have mixed the Vermiculite with water, and will make sure the eggs comfy in there, any further advice?
Before someone told us to separate the eggs, but I am planning to leave them together after doing some more research!
