Hi speed video of bullet impacts

While at the range one morning.....

While at the range one morning, I had my Video camera with me and was shooting some video of some of the guys.

This picture is a friend of mine shooting a Ruger 357 magnum. Because it was video, I was able to go back and play it frame by frame and extract this picture, "The moment of Bang!"

I really like the fireball and this pictures explains very well why if you ever shoot a 357 at night, you'd better make the first shot count, because you will be flash blinded for several minutes after.

One of my favourite things is the videos my friend makes when he goes shooting (Used to be 'we' but I haven't done any shooting since moving to Yellowknife). With an angle looking downrange you can see the wake coming off the bullet.

Any of those videos online? I wouldn't mind seeing that myself....

He's got so many now that I can't find a really good representation, but this video has an example. It also shows the kind of shenanigans he gets up to sometimes. >.>

At 0:50 he shoots the star off the tree. In the slow motion replay you can see the wake of air going from left to right.

Merry Christmas!!! HO HO HO!!!

Now that's how every Christmas tree should end up. Wish I lived far enough away in the Boonies to be able to go out and do that. They only allow cardboard and paper targets at the range I go to.

I'm actually amazed Tannerite is legal to buy in Canada, but it's super stable, totally inert before being mixed, and is pretty much impossible to set off accidentally.

Had some fun with it when I was down visiting in September. We didn't set off 164 pounds of it, though. :p
