Hi Emma,

Welcome to the Forum!

Here is what I usually give to the new comers minus what lennycorn has already given (hu lennycorn ;) )

There is a lot of very nice people here with a lot of good advice and remember: "there are no stupid questions if you don't know the answers" so if you have a question….
Also, it might already have been asked/answered and there is a search option which is very handy.

Here is another discussion that you might find interesting:
http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17308

Also, here are some discussions about cohabitation so that you can make your mind up but be prepared as the last one is very graphic:

Here are also some websites which was recommended to me and some that I have myself found interesting and with good advice:

http://www.themousefactory.com/rates/rates.html
http://www.herpvetconnection.com/

With regards to books, these are the ones that I heard the most about:
- "Corn Snakes : The Comprehensive Owner's Guide" by Kathy Love
- "The Art of Keeping Snakes" by Philippe De Vosjoli

I have the second book and really enjoyed reading it but I also will be getting the first one as the other one I bought was not as instructive as I wanted.
Kathy Love is recommended a lot in this forum.

Again, welcome!

It would have been nice to at least say "welcome" as after all, it is Emma saying Hi and introducing herself...

Blondie, is it really illegal? I heard from an ex-colleague that you needed a permit!?

Thanks Guys for the welcome!...just browsing through the forums slowly trying to get as much info as possible.

Hi Kathy

Yes you can get a permit to keep cornsnakes here, however there are a lot of people who have cornsnakes that do not have a permit who can get into a lot of trouble if found out.
