My gravid amel seems to have developed 'hips' over the past few weeks. You can see a pic of them here (the bottom pic). Has anyone else's snakes developed hips during pregnancy? If so, did they go away, or did they remain?

Also, is there any way to estimate the number of eggs? She was blue a couple days ago, so I'm expecting a shed very soon. I've tried running my fingers down her belly but I don't know how to keep her from moving away.

What a figure!!!

WOW!!!
That's quite a PACKED little girl you have there!!!!!
She looks like she could blow at any minute!:)
And she HASN'T had her pre-lay shed yet?!?
My goodness.....
I've never been able to estimate the number of eggs my girls will lay. So, I'm not much help there.
But, on some more "experienced" girls, they do tend to spread out quite a bit before laying. And, unlike we humans, they tend to regain their condition pretty quickly with proper nutrition and exercise.
So, unless you see a problem develop (can't pass stools, runny stools), I don't think I'd worry about her appearance.
Any other opinions out there?
And please let us know how many she ends up giving you.
Good luck!
