Hello everyone!

My name is Stacia and I'm a college student majoring in ecology and organismal biology, and I'm writing a Topical Community essay on snake bans, the drawbacks, benefits, and impacts on hobbyists and breeders of reptiles. I'm looking for experienced keepers and breeders of all different species of snakes, as well as any other reptiles commonly kept as pets.

The interview will be conducted online, over email most likely, but we could also use the forums or messaging system on here to communicate. The more people willing to participate the better. I will be making similar threads in other herp-focused forums, and if enough people are interested I might facilitate a web-based conversation between various hobbyists and experts via Skype, a conference call, or another similar platform.

Even if you don't know much about reptile bans or don't consider yourself to be a reptile expert, please consider letting me interview you! My questions are very general and relate mainly to your personal experiences of keeping and caring for and about all difference types of reptiles.

If you have any questions just ask

Thanks everyone!

I'm still looking for some help! This is the only forum I haven't had anyone volunteer to be interviewed on, but no one else from the other forums have managed to fill out the questions and email me back, so if you have any extra 10 or 15 minutes and wouldn't mind giving your opinions on reptile bans and keeping snakes, it would be really helpful for me.

CS.com is one of the best reptile forums IMO, and I would love to get some perspectives from corn keepers!

Thanks :)

It would be much easier to volunteer if you could do it by phone. I can talk faster than type, lol! Maybe you could record the conversation and then take notes later? You might get more volunteers that way. I would be up for it if it was by phone.

I'm game - I'm not breeding currently, but I have been keeping up with the industry for a while and run the occasional educational program for schools - I am also a science teacher.

I may be interested as well. I have experience with a broad range of species and experience breeding, vending expos, online sales, etc. I've also seen the effects of these bans on all of the above. I do however agree with Kathy, a phone interview is much easier than a typed interview. I can clean tubs while I talk, not while I type. HAHA
Thanks,
Dave

If it's not localized to US only I'll be glad to help... I kept quite a range of Boas, Pythons and Colubrids... not an expert but sure, but I know a thing or two I guess.

I wouldn't mind helping although I'm not sure i fit what you're asking for, I live in the UK for one. I'm a relatively new corn snake keeper of one years experience.

Enthusiasm is the key! Lol
