homemade water bowl?

ratsnakes

New member
I have a 3.5 black rat snake who's going to get bigger (5 or 6 feet). he is in a naturalistic viv, but the water bowl is just a boring plastic one. I've looked at the pet store ones that look like rocks, but they are so expensive. can i make one, out of like foam or cement?

Was researching on how to make one a few days ago as well. Unfortunately, no real "simple" solution. Any ideas guys i'm curious as well.

Those Exo-Terra ones that look like rocks are SO worth the $$! I have a ton of them. There are some things that will last forever that I don't mind spending money on, good water bowls, hides, etc. are among them.

www.kensfish.com he sells reptile stuff too and his pricing is really good.

There's no real good way to make your own water dish. Any coating you put on it would be scrubbed off in a matter of months during routine washings. You could try checking your local dollar stores for a stone colored plastic dog dish though.

well thanks but the nearest pet store to me-- petsmart:(-- has only small ones and the big ones online are like 50 bucks.... seeing as thats what i paid for the snake, thats qite alot
