6 clutches of corn eggs are 'pipping' simultaneously.........so, I do not have the lengthy time between hatchings that I had planned.

Ahhh, these animals are always out to surpise us!

Anyway, & to the point.

Checked on my Hondo Tricolour female (in the middle of all this hustle).

She had, continually, replaced her 'lay box' into a position that suited her & I, continually, placed it where I thought suitable!

Saturday night check confirmed that she had, indeed, replaced it where she thought more appropriate..........

Shored up ALL of the vivarium woodshavings, placed 'lay box' on top & wedged it between her water bowl & hide...........

O.K...........I gave up & left her to it ;)

Following afternoon (Sunday) I remember to, just, have a peek at her.

Oh there's a small piece of white egg showing above the Sphagnum moss, lovely.

Oh Lord ............I had forgotten how LARGE these guys eggs are!

For Comparision - A Corn Clutch (with the, obligatory, Lavender het. Stripe, Bloodred neonate of course):

I tell ya guys..............

I, totally, forgot how big the eggs were.

I saw the tell-tale white fertile 'tip' of an egg when I checked the 'lay box' & calmly took it out of the Viv. to inspect if she had finished.

Gawd, I almost dropped the darn box when I looked under to see these monster eggs. :laugh:

It's no wonder that I could not confirm eggs when I gently palpated the female; I was feeling for small corn eggs. :crazy02:
