My snow corn nevada just shed, but I only found about three fragments that add up to about 8 inches worth of shed. he is a 30 long snake!! I can see pieces of the shed on him on some scales where it is "peeling up" and I was wondering what the best way to help him shed the rest would be?? please help :shrugs:
 
I would do two things make a humind hide and try wetting a towel and as you hold him with the towel let him crawl through it and try lightly rubing off the shed, this might have to be done over a day or so period thus using the hide.
 
with my experience the humid hide is the best thing to do. my snakes all freak out when i try, even with the gentlest of care, to help them shed manually.
 
I agree with Lennycorns suggestions. some further notes on the topic:

The snake should be in a highly humid area for at least 30 minutes before trying to rub off the old skin with a wet cloth. Scales can be damaged if this isnt done with gentle care.

What I do if I have a bad shed is take a wash cloth or hand towel and get it wet and put it in a tupperware container that has a lid with some small holes. Put the snake in this container and close it and keep him there for 30 minutes to an hour. Put this container over the warm side of his cage so it will stay warm. The snake will move around and moisture is very high so he will loosen and remove some shed himself. After an hour or so take the snake out with the towel and get him to move through it while gently rubbing down his body with the towel to removed any remaining skin.

Having a humid hide is very good for when you know your snake is preshed so they will have better moisture and this wont happen but after the fact, such as now, you can't guarantee the snake will stay in an open moist hide, thus I reccomend forcing the issue by closing him in the container.

My tri hoggy had a bad shed because he didn't like his humid hide. I did two series of soak on a warm wet towel for 20 minutes in a closed container, then hand rub him, then soak, then rub, paying extra super special attention to make sure the tail tip of the shed was completely removed. Then I let him dry overnight, and there was no remaining shed in the morning.

thanks guys. i went through his bedding and found 2 more smallish pieces, and I tried the bath and towel thing but only got a small piece. I will leave a humid hide in there overnight and see what happens tomorrow.
