Houdini my pet shop rescue

I had my eye on this cali king for a while... After I got 'Domino' my little female cali king at the show I went back over to the pet store to see if they still had it. Well, they did... at a reduced price because he had escaped from his enclosure and had some nasty scrapes. I have no idea if this is a male or female, but I won't be heartbroken if 'he' turns out to be a she. I've been treating his boo-boos with neosporin and he has a great appetite and seems quite healthy (and happy to have some decent substrate and hiding places). They had him labeled as a lavender albino, nothing on the store tag about the nice aberrant pattern. Domino is het for lavender too... I think they would make a nice pair! After the escapade he had I have named him Houdini :)

NICE! Great job rescuing the little escape artist...

I've got 2 pet store rescues...one florida king for being a bitey little ^%$^&, and a royal python on the verge of starvation and death by dehydration that is now coming along VERY nicely...

Rewarding watching them get better, ain't it?

Here's a little update shot, he looks much better after he shed. All healed up, and definitely a beautiful snake... his personality is another story. He's a musking, rattling, unhandleable drama queen. The pet store gave me his feeding records, he was there for over a year! I still love him though :)

That's great! I like to have one drama queen in the collection. I got Inez out last night, to watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I thought I'd weigh her. As we're walking through the kitchen, she lets loose a spewing stream of poo, for once missing my clothes. Shower time for Inez! She liked the movie, though-sat through the whole thing. I wonder if the violent subject matter appealed to her. At one point, she was even upside down, motionless.

Well, Houdini's looking good!

Wow, congrats on finding and rescueing such a handsome king! I love his pattern!

If not for the attitudinal (It's a word in my world lol) side of the Cali kings I'd have more then the two I do have. But I figured they bite, squeeze, and musk enough for two dozen snakes.
