is there any kind of red flag way to know if your female is pregnant? i have a proven breeding pair of a male snow corn and a female grey rat snake. we had no plans of breeding them this season. the stay in the same tank at all times. about 3 weeks ago we moved their tank from the normal spot to a different room for a few days because we were painting the room their tank is usually in. i plugged their under-tank heat pad in an outlet. i didnt realize until we moved them back that that outlet didnt work so there was no heat in their tank for about 5 days. right before i moved the tank back to the normal room i saw them mating. about a week later the female looked a little fatter than normal. we fed them both and the female ate just as she normally does. she looks even fatter now and is getting ready to shed. im not sure if the extra weight was from eating or if she has eggs inside her. i cant feel or see any seperate eggs when i hold her. if she is pregnant how long until she lays the eggs and how long until i should put the egg box in their tank? should i put a box in even if im not sure? are there any behavior changes or anything i could look for to tell if shes pregnant? also ive read that after the female lays her eggs you should seperate the male and female so they dont breed again. if she lays eggs how long should i keep them seperated?
