Hypo Bloodred

Hum..
this is a very different bloodred~
its not like the red blood colored bloodreds around...
the colors are so....so....?....?....like the okeetees....?

Looks great! The color is very pleasing, and seems to be developed quite a bit. At what age are bloodreds supposed to be completely filled out?

Doug and Jeff bought a pair of Bloodreds from Kathy Love. When I saw them I thought they were very dull and definately not red. As it tuned out, they were het hypo. This one is the result of that cross.

Bloodred isn't a color-mutation but a pattern-mutation. A pewter is also a Bloodred but then mixed with a Charcoal. You can breed Bloodred in every color-mutation. E.g Butter-Bloodred, or Anery-Bloodred.
Then within a year or two the complete pattern is vanishing away....

LOL
yeah I know that~
what I was referring was that it doesn't look like just a regular bloodred.
As Clint has stated it might have the het hypo affect in them. That was what I was referring to....

Edmund, to answer your question about development.

I don't have a lot of experience with them, I've only raised a couple past the age of 1 yr so far. Mine seem to settle in to thier color at about one year. I have two different bloodlines that are past one year. I'll try to get some pics today.
