Hypo or Sunglow?

so they are born with zero white...it doesn't fade away as they get older?

Actually, now that you mention it, they aren't born with white - as far as mine are concerned anyway.

Using the "zero white on top" as a guide, I suppose my two amels are sunglows.

Pics of hatchling and 5 year old from the same parents can be found here ...

... the 5 year old looked just like them when he was a baby.

So, I guess the white just gradually fades out so you may yet end up with a sunglow if yours is a young'un. :)

Now someone will post on here to tell me mine isn't a sunglow and they hatch out with no white on them ....

Doh! .... curses to lack of edit function and my crappy proof-reading.

That should of course say "they ARE born with white".

Sunglow motley male. Just to give an idea of what one looks like... "secretly loves showing snakes off" I have a female too but shes camera shy...

My sunglow motley had no white when I bought her aged 3 weeks and still has no white as a 15 month old. I see some people selling hatchlings that look like regular amels to me but say the parents are both sunglows so the baby must be a sunglow too....geezz, I don't want to start this whole debate again!!!

What it comes down to is if a corn is an amel with no white on its topside you can call it a sunglow...

No checkers

The pupils are red it's not a Hypo~ it's an Amel. Looks like Sunglow~ Is the belly clear? Any checkering? I can't see any in the bit of belly we can see~ but there could be checks further down than I can see.

She has a white belly except towards her tail where it looks diffused. And my camera doesn't capture the brightness of her colors well....stupid flash is too bright. Thanks guys for your help!

My cats helped me find my lost ghost!! Me so happy!! :)

Lotus: Sunglow motley

This photo was taken by her breeder when she was 2-3 weeks old and had shed once.

This is her aged about 2-3 months showing a little of her belly, a totally normal belly for a motley with the white near the throat and the freckling starting at mid body.

This is her aged roughly 6 months.

I have other photos but that'll do. This is what a sunglow motley looks like :) A sunglow is the same colouration but without the motley pattern. The motley pattern however often seems to intensify the saddle colour making the snake look brighter.
