I got a hamster

LOL... what a cute little hamster! :D Are bugs part of their natural diet?

Yeah, their diet consists mostly of seeds but they do take insects. Mine loves the roaches, he emptied his pouch to make room for them. The first time he pouched one he didn't know what it was so when it moved it freaked him out and he jumped a little and spat it out.

Aww what a cutie! It makes me miss mine and want to get another one lol and i wish you would have got him spitting out the roach!

Hamsters love Romaine lettuce too. I can't watch your video because I'm on a 12 year old computer. I think it's 12 now. And the video card is going. What kind of hamster is it?

Its a young black bear hamster. (black syrian hamster) My battery was charging when I gave him his first roach.

How cute. I used to breed hamsters when I lived in Washington, and really miss it. The genetics for colors/patterns/hair type are really cool, and with such a short gestation/lifespan you can really make some cool babies without a whole lot of waiting. Funny thing was I was always looking for a calico and could never find one, and then move to Alabama and the local petstore occassionally gets in calicos!

My hammie used to LOVE silkworms. She'd eat the innards but not the skin half the time. :)

I used to have a teddy bear named Smoke. He died of old age of almost 5. He escaped twice (once for a whole week), but we were able to get him back before he met up with cats or dogs. I like hamsters, but it takes a lot of work to keep them tame. That's one reason I like guinea pigs. If I can't hold one for a week (which I don't when I have a cold), they are still tame after a week. Hamsters, mice and rats have to be held every few days at least to remain tame.

But they sure are cute!

They're probably love them, hamsters eat bugs as a natural part of their diet. Mine is growing very fast from all the protein he gets from the discoids.
