Icarus, 2011 Lava

Bird Nerd
I got this guy from Danny Wynne at RyLi Corns last year at Tinley. I couldnt be happier with him! Danny is a great guy and has amazing animals! This is going to be Icarus' progression thread :)

Icarus came to me on October 8, 2011 weighing in at 14g.

Unfortunately, Danny did not warn me about how hungry his babies were! I probably should have gone to the hospital, but I didnt.

And here is Icarus today, at 24g. You can already see the nice borders he is developing, and that gorgeous hypo look I just love! These last two pictures are most true to his colors as I finally was able to get a decent lens for my DSLR :)

Thanks for looking!! :D

I'm excited to see how he ages- but why should you have gone to the hospital?

I love the colouring on the head, the bite thumb pic is cute

Thanks! :)

Great looking Lava! Hand fed too!! Looks like he's outgrown pinkies.

Thanks! Im thinking the same too. Two pinkies are left then he will be getting bumped up. The last two pictures he has two pinks in his belly and you can barely tell.

Because ya know, they are such viscous little creatures and I might have lost a finger! ;)

Update! He is now on fuzzies and has grown a lot these past few weeks. He is very handsome IMO :)

He is a great looking lava! My lavas colors seem to get better every time he sheds. Good luck with yours.

Very Nice!! Would this little mister be Het or PH for stripe?? Just curious. I have a pair of Lava's from Jeff Mohr Both Het for Caramel. Just love the Lava look! :)

Thanks everyone!

Dave, those colors are true! I was surprised myself but he is really getting bright. His sibling from a couple years back is just crazy bright with thick borders.

Rich, he is ph opal stripe :)

Oh, and he now weighs 37g!

I knew if it was from Danny it had Something Good Hiding in there!! :)

Thanks Joe! I cant wait to see how he progresses, hopefully those borders are here to stay!
I believe the borders are here to stay. Here is a Demo Pedigree for your Lava Okeetee. http://herpregistry.com/acr/demopedigree.php?sire=05016&dam=05015

I picked up a couple of siblings to your Lava too. If you haven't done it, I would recommend that you register your Lava with the ACR too. He has a very nice family tree going, which you can connect into.

Your Lava Okeetee's exceptional borders can be traced back to a Don S Abbott's x Extreme Reverse Okeetee, ACR 3614, that I purchased from Don and bred to an Amel Lava when it grew up. If you go to the above link, you can click around on some of your Lavas ancestors and see how he came to be.

Danny took it to the next level and produced some of the nicest Lava Okeetees that are available today.

Very beautiful boy!
I have a 2009 male Lava (also poss. het Lavender, Amel, Stripe), that I got from Danny, too.:)
