Hi.
I am posting this threat for one of my best corns I ever had.

In 2005 I saw my first plasma at a friends place (Daniel Bohle) and since then, I always wanted one of those beautiful corns. But they were nearly impossible to get. I searched over years and asked here and everywhere in the cornboards if someone may have one for me.
And then, finally in 2008 I got a great Hypoplasma female from a german breeder (Silverwinter thanks :)). She was a nice snake, who ate everything and had some character ;)...
She was always sitting alone in her terra and never had contact to any other of my corns.

But two weeks ago, I made a horrible found. She was dead. Nothing showed us why. Without a reason, she layed there and I was so damn sad. My girlfriend helped me and sended her to exomed to get the reason, why.
Today we got the result.

She got slugs in her and an inflammation killed her.
No one could foresee this. There is no one to blame.

Well, my most favorite corn died in one night and I am still really sad :(
But I will keep her in good memories and hope that I can get one hypoplasma as great as her, even if it will be really hard.

In memory of my beloved hypoplasma female.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your favorite snake. She was lovely, and it's always awful to get a nasty shock like that. I woke up one morning last summer to find my beautiful butter dead (though in different circumstances). It was terrible. I'll say a prayer for you.

We just had our first snake die last night. Seamus was growing into a pretty normal, but a few days after we got him we noticed a kink. From that moment my husband thought it was a matter of time. We loved him those few months and he passed away in my hands. I will miss him.

Thank you all for the nice answers.
I was relived, that it was no sickness or not my fault, but its still hard:(
Hope I can find another one, but no snake in the world can replace her.
Thank you all
Chris

Thank you guys.
Yeah Makis, well life goes on and I still have many great corns.
Thank you all for your kind words.

So sorry for your loss. I know the pit of the stomach feeling you get when you open a cage door to a dead snake. I just went thru it myself. I feel for you. At least you know why. I had no explanation.
