Increasing snakes food amount

So I got a baby blizzard corn snake back in august, and he was verrrrry tiny. Had lots of issues getting him to start eating due to the fact the breeder lied and never had before. Long story short he I eventually got him to eat and have had no problems since. My question is he has of course gotten bigger (still a little worm of course since he is only about 4 ish months old) and I have been feeding him xs pinkies due to his size. 1 xs pinky does not seem to cut it for him, but I just have so many left and don,t want them to go to waste. My friend gave me pinkies which he happily ate 2 which I offered out of curiosity.

My question is can I feed him (2 xs pinkies) per feeding time instead of dipping into my normal pinkey stash just yet. I know he is capable of eating both sizes since the size difference is very little, I just rather burn through the xs I ordered. Also is it normal to try to feed 2 mice of a lower size untill you think they are ready to officially move up to a larger size to make sure the snake is big enough and capable?

That's what I did last year, burned through 2x day-old pinks until they were gone before moving on to the next size.

Usually 2 is fine, especially at the pinkie stage, but 3+ becomes a little silly. The ball pythons at work have to eat 2x hoppers once they're big enough for adults because it's the largest size I'm allowed to order. :( I even had one big male who could easily take a small rat eating 3 at a time.

Cool thanks for the help!
