hahaha
its a great story....
I had told her a couple weeks ago that he was sold, which broke her heart. She had fallen in love at the last show.
So, yesterday, I got up just like any normal work day, dressed, coffeed, and out the door at the usual time, drove her to the busstop as normal, but instead of going to work, I went back home. Grabbed some necessities (Rockstar, heatpack, snakebags, sterolite) and headed to Olympia (120 miles north).
I stopped at one point, and set my girlfriend a text message telling her the internet at my office was down, so my usual email would work.
Kat was awesome and had the lil guy all bagged up and read to go. Just dropped him in the sterolite w/ heat and drove back home. My girlfriend managed to reply to my text message right as I stopped for gas. Perfect timing.
Got home, and got the tank setup. I couldn't do it ahead of time, as she would have thought something was fishy. Fortunately we have a ton of stuff so new setups take just minutes. I moved a few of my scorps around and made shelfspace for Eros.
She made it home on time, and I, as usual, was in the Kids' Room feeding scorpions. Eros's enclosure is right next too the door, at the same spot I had a similarly sized tank for scorpions. She walked in, asking how my day was and how the kids are doing. I just stared at her and answered her questions and what not... I'd stare at her, then look at the tank, stare at her, look at the tank. She wasn't picking up on it. After a few minutes, she was heading out the door, and almost had it closed behind her when she realized "that wasn't a scorpion!!"
She was totally shocked. So I told her about what really happened through the day...
she's happy as can be
