Irritated skin, red/pink patches on Texas Leucistic RS

Any one deal with that ? Seems to only be on the sides of the body.
Looks really irritated.
Is it too dry maybe ?
Viv is clean,(no co habbing) has aspen, coconut & an old dry arbutus branch as well as a plastic cave hide and the occasional paper towel to roll around under :)
Water bowl is big but rarely soaks.
I keep this one around Corn & Milk viv's so I don't provide any artificial light(they do get plenty of outdoor light), could that be it ?
Under tank pad too close(under aspen) ?

I'm thinking need lighting and or more humidity.

Thoughts ?

Thanks !

is the UTH under the viv or just the bedding?
if its under the bedding and not under the viv that could be it. it might be to hot.

do you have the temp on the glass under the bedding. i should be about 85.
Make sure you check on the glass because it makes a big diffrence under the bedding from abouve the bedding.

Okay, again:
Does it feel weird or different that the normal looking area? It could just be some color bleeding in.

Sorry, I read this earlier but totally forgot to respond.
Feels the same as the rest but now the red is more of a VERY light brown...dare I say...kinda like when blood dries.
Seems to be just under the scales.

It definitely sounds like coloring bleeding in. Try feeling the areas with a very firm grip and see if the coloring moves; if it's tried blood, I would expect it to.

If the snake seems fine other wise, I wouldn't worry about it. A trip to the vet MAY confirm what it is, but again, if the rat snake seems fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

Well from your original picture, I really don't see anything wrong. If you say the color has changed further, I would suggest posting another picture. That being said, I would wait till his next shed and see how it looks then.

Gonna have to ask again, this guy is got red-ness all over...
Has no one here seen this before ? Can anyone offer suggestions ?

Again, Texas Leucistic Rat Snake, living on aspen/coconut mulch & arbutus branches.
Skin is patchy red and looks irritated.
He is supposed to be all white, not white with red patches all over...

HELP !

I'm hesitant to go to the vet because...

A) The vets here need to make money BEFORE resolving the problem.(just spent $1500.00 getting my cats diarrhea cleared up when it only could of cost $200.00)

B) There should be an abundance of people here that have seen this and can help....

I still think it's too dry...anyone ?

So this dude went blue a week ago and I had been misting him once/twice a day since just before that and he just did a perfect shed, no red patches or irritated skin.
Must be too dry.
