Just a ghost?

So..this little fella has me a bit baffled. He "looks" like a ghost...but not quite. Then again, I didn't hatch out any other hypo A ghosts this year so maybe he just looks odd as he is the only one here. :shrugs: Nevertheless, I like him and think is pattern is pretty cool....sort of faded.

His parents:

Father: Hypo het amel, anery, lavender, caramel
Mother: Amel het anery, lavender, caramel, and pos het hypo.

No hypos in the clutch...so that is why I am listing the female as pos het hypo but this guy sure looks like he has the hypo gene!

So...what do you guys think?

Hrm... I'm not positive what he is...Perhaps a ghost lavender? :shrugs:
All of the babies are great looking!! :grin01:

I was going to guess something along the lines of anery lavender - maybe ghost lavender. Where's Rich when we need him to chime in? Or anyone else that has been playing with all those lovely genes lately.

P.S. - I might be able to help you out next year (or will be coming to you for help anyway!) - I have 3.5 anery het hypo, lavender, poss amel siblings.

It might be a ghost, but, for me, it doesn't have enough of the "pink" coloration. But then, I only have the ghosts I hatch out to compare it to. Personally, I would be more apt to call it an anery lavender. It has that lavender-ish look, IMO.

It has a decidedly lavender look to it doesn't it? I would guess either lavender ghost or anery lavender (my fav!!)

Yeah, I really don't know what this little one might be. Looks "off" to be a ghost and in my opinion a little light to be an anery lavender. My guesses are ghost lavender or maybe something with caramel in there....

My vote is for Anery Lavender. It seems that especially male Anery Lavs have a very Hypo effect to them with out the Hypo gene being present.

On a different note I hatched four animals this year of which I know two are Hypo Caramel Lavenders I just don't know which two. ;) None of the four look like that.

Thanks for the info...and now you know you have to post updated pics of your suspected hypo caramel lavenders. :crazy02:

You tell me. You had that other pic that was the suspected lavender ghost? How's this one compare?

I think both of them may or may not be :). How's that for answering the question without answering it? I think if the folks that think mine isn't are right, then yours probably is. Yours looks like the lavender anerys I've produced only diluted (excuse the term). If yours isn't, then maybe mine is. The one characteristic of mine that keeps me from dismissing the possibility is the saddle borders. It gives them a very "ghostly" appearance and it's not a quality I see on any of my other lavs or lav morphs. It's hard to capture with my pathetic 3.2 mega pixel can-opener . Anyways, if the worst case scenario is yours is a lav anery, the good news is, it's a really nice, different looking example of one.

Chris
