Just a few out of the 85 photos I took were good enough to show here.

It's the Jameson's Mamba, I think. They had a green, which was the East African. Not sure if they had a West African. Then of course the last photo is the black.

Have you ever seen the show on National Geographic about the lady who rescues them? I love that program. I'm sure you can watch it on line.

Well, it was a little underwhelming, TBH. We'd heard so much about it- I thought it would be comparable to Reptile World in Orlando, or the reptile zoo in Deland, FL. But- first of all, you have to go through with a guide. The reptiles are housed in little pods, up on stilts. Each small shed has a collection of sort of related snakes. The displays are mostly nice. The guide was knowledgeable, but sooo young. It seemed like she was just repeating facts. Granted, we did learn a few things.

There were a couple snakes I hadn't heard of. And most of the old favorites of any venomous display.

Barely into the "tour," we were joined by two or three people. Okay. Then a large group of not snake people, who were noisy and distracting. If we'd been on our own, we would have distanced ourselves from them. The whole thing became rushed, noisy, distracting. We didn't even stay for the venom extraction.

We were hugely disappointed, after a 200 mile drive...

But then we went to the Newport Aquarium, which was wonderful.

That would have really annoyed me.

Nanci, when you lived up north, did you ever get to the Reptile Gardens in SD?

Your pictures are beautiful!

Yes- I love Reptile Gardens! That is more on a scale with Gatorland and St. Augustine Alligator Farm.

Thank you- but I had about 80 that I hated...I like the last three. The first three are just the best of the rejects.
